Solo winter hike in the wilderness

A cold but lovely winter day in the wilderness. The ice on the lake has begun to settle and the ground has hardened by the cold. The air is fresh and everything is quiet and still. I make a feeding platform for the forest birds of a firewood from birch. It does not take long before the birds come to eat the seeds. A wonderful winter day in the woods.
